Not a normal Monday

It must be Christmas Break. The Christmas tree is up and I know it is Monday and yet Dan and Allana did not get up at 5:00 a.m. to let me outside so it must be Christmas Break.
When I first saw Dan look like this, I thought it was his turn to clean the kitty litter box, but every day that Dan does not go to work, the never ending home improvement projects continue around here. I heard Dan talk about putting up radiant barrier and working in the attic, but seriously this is what he was wearing. Earlier this month he was in the attic, when all of a sudden there was a crash and suddenly there was a new access hole to the attic! So the next few weekends were spent patching the ceiling drywall. I wonder what will happen next.

Sheltie Christmas Club Party

Today was the Alamo Area Shetland Sheepdog Club's Christmas party and I was left at home! The party has been here at the Hemenway's the past few years, and it was a great place to wander around and beg for food (I'm really good at that!). But I was left at home and Dan and Allana left without me. I didn't get to wear my red and green sparkly jingle bell collar and go with them! I was stuck at home watching HGTV. (Like I need more home renovations in my life, the last four years have been enough!) No snacks for me all afternoon! I'm feeling neglected. Can't you tell I look a little neglected?

Ardon (aka as the hairy sable mop) is on line

It's almost Christmas time! I love this time of year. The red bows come out! Taio already ate one of my bows, but he is still a puppy, so I didn't get upset with him. Allana has other collar decorations for me and I love the jingle ones the best, but the puppies seem to think I'm a toy and not the one to be respected when I am wearing one! If you saw the video of Allana making the Christmas card, you will notice that I was the perfect one throughout.
Well, I should go for now, but I'm so glad I learned to type. I'll start blogging on a regular basis!

Pajero's Blog - Day 21

I'm home! It is great to be back home. Guy really missed me! He was so happy to see me that he dashed out of the house to greet me. Well, I did make it to the door pretty quick, so he didn't have to travel too far to greet me. Things went great. I had the run of the house and everything. We did have a few small glitches today though. Guy and Thelma took Dan and Allana out for lunch and they forgot me at home. I didn't worry about it too much at first as I was able to crash on the couch and have a little nap until they returned. Then Guy fed me. He gave me dry dog food for supper! I tried to casually hint to him that I was now on a fresh food diet by tossing the dry kibble out of the bowl, but he walked away. I knew I was going to have to wear him down on this one. Sure enough, I looked sad enough long enough that he changed up my food with canned meat so I graciously accepted the compromise and ate my meal. I was ready to watch a movie on TV, but then they all left and went out for dinner and they forgot me at home. They left me babysitting the puppies! I am not a built in babysitter (well, puppy sitter), I am Pajero! Where is my wait staff? I feel a tangle in my ruff coming on...

Pajero's Blog - Day 20

1 more sleep until I go home! There has been a flurry of activity here tonight. Allana's high school football team did not have a game so she is home and causing all the commotion. Puppies are getting bathed so they don't look scruffy when Guy sees them tomorrow. I was worried I might be in line for yet another bath, but so far, I've stayed off the radar.

I've enjoyed my time with the Hemenway's. The sable hairy mop isn't so bad after-all. He's been very hospitable and has let me share the loveseat, the sheepskin beds and the chew bones. I've given him a quick lesson on blogging, so maybe he will keep the blog going. I'm going to try to blog tomorrow night at home to let everyone know how Kismet is. I'm looking forward to going home but I want to enjoy my last night here and the sheepskin dog bed is calling my name.

Pajero's Blog - Day 19

2 more sleeps and I get to go home! I hope Guy and Thelma have all the appliances replaced so I can have my evening hot chocolate with wipped cream and freshly popped popcorn for when I watch t.v. I'm going to do my best to convince them that this is what happened every night at Dan and Allana's. I'm really hoping for the sympathy factor that they got to go on a European vacation and I had to be an Ike evacuee. I wonder if they got me one of those t-shirts that said "My family went to Prague and all I got was this T-shirt". Guy really isn't into dogs wearing clothes, so I'm sure I'm pretty safe from being dressed up.

Dan has started his handy man Dan list of tools that he needs to bring on the Houston trip. There's no electricity to the puppy room so Dan will pretend to be an electrician this weekend. I must say that during my time here at the Hemenway's, I have noticed that he likes to play in the workshop and I must say that there are lots of projects for him at this place. Allana keeps whining about trim on her doorways and painting the interior doors, but Dan spends his time outside. I like the firepit he built and have enjoyed the roasted marshmallows and s'mores with him in the late evening after Allana has gone to bed. I'm glad Allana hasn't been a part of that otherwise she would have us all joining hands (well, hand and paw) and singing Kum-by-ya around the fire. I'm going to miss this place.

Pajero's Blog - Day 18

October 1st! Wow time is flying by. I wonder if I will be able to go trick or treating at the end of the month. Guy called to confirm I was coming home on Saturday. I think he must really miss me. He wanted to make sure I received my monthly heartworm preventative today as well. Not only does he really, really miss me but he must miss looking after me as well. I think I'm going to be very pampered when I get home.

The puppies got us up very early this morning. They started barking at 4:00 a.m. Ardon, Aria and I were peacefully sleeping on our cozy sheepskin beds in the master bedroom when the chorus of puppy barks rang through the house. Allana got up and dealt with the situation, while Dan and us smart dogs continued to sleep. Allana seemed rather agitated when she came back to the room shortly before 5:00 a.m. She was trying to talk to us, but I don't think any of us could really understand what she was trying to say. All of us just snuggled down into our respective beds and sure enough after a few minutes she was gone and off to work. This just proves my theory that if you practice avoidance from something, or in this case, someone, it may just go away!
