Auntie Laura and Pizza!

Auntie Laura drove all the way from Houston just to visit me today! I thought she was going to make Allana take me for a walk, but it didn't happen today. She didn't take me to the factory outlet mall either, but she did share some pizza with me tonight. I love pizza! We always get pizza when Auntie Laura comes.
All the other dogs are busy chewing on chew bones, but I'm full from the pizza and all curled up on the couch with my pillow and blanket and with Auntie Laura. I really love Christmas Break!

Oh no! Just when things were going my way...

Oh no! How did one of the blue dogs get up on the loveseat? I'm sensing some competition coming on!

Why I love the sofa

Now you will notice that I've included several photos in this blog. I want you to notice how all the blue dogs are sleeping on the floor and yet I have the couch and Allana has even supplied me with a blanket and pillow. This is how it should be. Everything is right in the world tonight. I love Christmas Break!

The truck is clean so I'm out

Today the truck got detailed, so that means I will not be traveling to Sonic for Happy Hour! When I go anywhere in the van, I'm always in a crate, but when I get to go in the truck, sometimes I get to sit up front in my seatbelt. I like that a lot and when we go to Sonic, the server always has a dog cookie ready for me. Now that the truck is all detailed, Dan won't want "dog hair" in it for a few days. Hopefully, he will forget and take me to Sonic Happy Hour tomorrow.

Bath day

Taio and I got baths today. Allana was rather sneaky about it. She was not wearing her grooming apron and quietly sat down beside on me on the couch and scooped me up. Oh well, at least I know I'm off the bath radar for another week or two.

The day seemed quite normal around here. Dan went to Lowe's and brought home more wood. He is building a shelf and Allana was hinting about pull out shelves in the kitchen. I heard the power tools working overtime outside, so pretty much a normal day around here.

I'm still a little worried about Allana though. She cut our walk short today. I wish she was feeling better so she could take us out for a nice long walk. Maybe tomorrow.

Christmas Day

We had a nice quiet Christmas here at the Hemenways. Grandma didn't come, so I didn't get my usual turkey dinner snacks all day. I like when Grandma cooks. Allana cooked turkey dinner but she didn't share with me so I really don't know how good it was. I always know with Grandma's cooking as she always shares.

Allana has had the Hallmark movie channel all day which is really getting a little annoying. Dan set up the Boxee Box in the guest room and I think I hear Kung Fu Panda coming from that T.V. I wish I could open the baby gate and go down the hall.

I hope all my blog followers had a great Christmas. Mine was great. Just wish I could have got a little turkey dinner!

Another Kitty! Are you kidding me?!

O.K., let's get this right. Last summer, a litter of kittens was born on our property, but we do not have any outdoor cats so why do Dan and Allana think they are responsible for them? In September, they caught two of the little ones and placed them in a home and then last night trapped another one and today took her to the vet today to be spayed and get a rabies shot. I'm thinking she may become another member of the family. She may stick around a little longer now!

Now, I know it may sound like I'm whining, but I heard Allana say the vet bill was $182. That would have bought a lot of dog toys for under the Christmas tree. Felix, our pseudo cat, is afraid of cats, so the new kitty can't live with him, so what are we going to do with a feral cat? I'm hearing Dan talk about building a little cat house for her. I don't have my own house! I have to share with the other shelties around here. This is feeling a little unfair.

Campfires and S'mores

Dan spent the day burning down yet another dead tree that he had chopped up. Allana got the great idea that if she went out to the store and got some marshmallows she could roast them over the fire. What was she thinking? It has been a long time since her girl scout days. Her first attempt resulted in a flaming charred plop on the ground. Of course Dan's first attempt resulted in 2 perfectly toasted marshmallows! Allana quickly stole the perfect marshmallows and made two s'mores! They didn't share with me though! I don't think this is very fair at all! I am still feeling neglected!

The Dreaded Apron

I'm sure Allana should figure it out that when she puts on her grooming apron it is like a giant neon sign that flashes time for a bath! Most of the dogs around her know how to avoid her at this point except for the puppies. They are slow to learn the meaning of the apron.
I know I'm due for a bath, but I stayed real flat on the chair, and she did not notice me. Two others got baths, but not me today! Yea! Oh oh... it is ring handling class tonight and now the clean dogs are going and I'm stuck in the chair. darn.....

Not a normal Monday

It must be Christmas Break. The Christmas tree is up and I know it is Monday and yet Dan and Allana did not get up at 5:00 a.m. to let me outside so it must be Christmas Break.
When I first saw Dan look like this, I thought it was his turn to clean the kitty litter box, but every day that Dan does not go to work, the never ending home improvement projects continue around here. I heard Dan talk about putting up radiant barrier and working in the attic, but seriously this is what he was wearing. Earlier this month he was in the attic, when all of a sudden there was a crash and suddenly there was a new access hole to the attic! So the next few weekends were spent patching the ceiling drywall. I wonder what will happen next.

Sheltie Christmas Club Party

Today was the Alamo Area Shetland Sheepdog Club's Christmas party and I was left at home! The party has been here at the Hemenway's the past few years, and it was a great place to wander around and beg for food (I'm really good at that!). But I was left at home and Dan and Allana left without me. I didn't get to wear my red and green sparkly jingle bell collar and go with them! I was stuck at home watching HGTV. (Like I need more home renovations in my life, the last four years have been enough!) No snacks for me all afternoon! I'm feeling neglected. Can't you tell I look a little neglected?

Ardon (aka as the hairy sable mop) is on line

It's almost Christmas time! I love this time of year. The red bows come out! Taio already ate one of my bows, but he is still a puppy, so I didn't get upset with him. Allana has other collar decorations for me and I love the jingle ones the best, but the puppies seem to think I'm a toy and not the one to be respected when I am wearing one! If you saw the video of Allana making the Christmas card, you will notice that I was the perfect one throughout.
Well, I should go for now, but I'm so glad I learned to type. I'll start blogging on a regular basis!
