A Purple Ribbon followed him home

It's killing me! Can't you tell? Taio gets to go with Allana to the show on the weekend and I'm stuck at home with the puppies and the babysitter and then when they return Allana has to tell me how wonderful "Taio" is and how well behaved he was and blah, blah, blah, blah. I can't take it! I may be retired from shows, but that doesn't mean I don't need to be reminded on what I'm missing out on. So what if he got his second major and took a big 5 point win this weekend. I already have all my points and I don't see any other titles after his name. I have way more hair, know way more tricks and am truly a crowd favorite. I think I should enter myself in a show on line. Let me figure out a way to do that.

Quiet Weekend

Dan took Sita and Taio to Houston for the weekend, so I have Allana all to myself without that young blue attention seeking Taio around. We've had a nice weekend. The puppies are becoming a little more demanding as they are getting into that stage that Allana refers to as "super cute and need to play with them all the time" stage. I really don't like this stage as they tend to get access to the family room area and they like to grab my fur when I walk by. Allana is spending a lot of time laying on the floor playing with them. I prefer the view from the chair.

The Circus is Here

Allana has really lost her mind now. It is specialty show season and instead of fluffing and brushing and bathing and show training, she is teaching all of to jump through a hoop. Now, I'm not saying that we don't mind all the treats that come with the training, but we are not running away to a circus anytime soon and I don't recall a class at any show called "jumping through a hula-hoop". Will someone please tell Allana to just brush us and give us treats for being pampered?

The Puppies are Taking Over

I knew it was just a matter of time! Layla's puppies now have their pen set up in the family room and they are enjoying free roaming time in the kitchen. I just knew this was going to happen. I'm suddenly feeling a little more neglected as Dan and Allana are spending way too much time with the little ones. I need a plan to distract them away from the puppies.

Not the Best Week!

I'm so glad it is Saturday. Last week was not good for me. Stitch was here being babysat and while running the fence with him as we both pretended to be fierce attack shelties, I caught my front teeth on the fence and suddenly they felt real loose. As a result, Allana took me to the vet for a dental. Allana was rather sneaky about it. I had a bath on Thursday night and had the full spa treatment with a full line brush and trim, so I thought I was going to school to read to the 1st grade students. She loaded me up in the van and off we went, but we stopped about 30 minutes from the house, that should have been my first clue, and she took me out and we were at the vet's office. It was very disappointed. I love going to school, but not the vet's office. It got worse too as I didn't even get supper last night! Thankfully, I had a light breakfast and supper tonight. I think tomorrow will be a better day.

Sonic Sunday

Today was a pretty great day. I got to go to Sonic! The only problem was that when the roller skating lady asked if Dan wanted any mints or a treat for the dog he said "no thanks"! I couldn't believe Dan said that! I'm sitting right beside him in the front seat of the truck! Did I become invisible all of a sudden? I was a little miffed but things did get a little better as our next stop was Petsmart and I got some little treats there from Petsmart trainer Andrea and we bought some treats to bring home.

The only slight problem around the house right now is Layla's puppies' pen is right across the baby gate next to the family room. I'm worried they will be roaming around in short order.

Happy Day!

I finally got to go for a nice long walk around our block today. While Dan, Allana and Taio did 2 miles, I'm sure I did 4 miles. If you go to the end of an extend-a-leash and continue to go out to the end and back and from one side to the other of the road, you can double the distance. The regular black lab did not follow us today for our walk. I guess he decided to stay home as his owner was home.

I also dodged all the dog bathing that happend last night and today! That is great too. I did get my teeth brushed though. Now I'm curled up on the chair having an early evening nap. Life is good.

Happy New Year!

A strange thing has been happening at our house the past few days. A DVD is going in the DVD player, but instead of popcorn and a movie (I love popcorn!) a yoga mat and hand weights keep coming out. I'm pretty confused with all this activity. I have always associated the DVD player with popcorn and the couch. Does anyone know what Allana is doing? This is really weird. I wonder how long it will last.
